New Delhi: The imposition of SUVA on Italian mariners who have been facing trial related to the killings of two Indian fishermen near Kerala coast would be reconsidered.
The central government has asked the law ministry to see whether they can be exempted from death sentence. It was home ministry which recommended the central government to impose SUVA to Italian mariners.
There are genuine evidences on the mariners over the killings of Indian fishermen. That is why the home ministry recommended central government to impose SUVA on the accused.
As per the existing rules and regulations in India to curb terrorism in sea, the mariners would be getting death sentence if they are found guilty.
