Islamabad: Former Pakistan Cricket captain Imran Khan who is currently a politician blamed Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for the recent terrorist attacks on the country’s security personnel.
In the latest attack, at least 22 security personnel were killed and 38 injured when the Pakistani Taliban attacked an army convoy in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in the country.
Imran Khan, who is also the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party chief, said that Maulana Fazl-ur-Rahman or Sami-ul-Haq alone cannot bring the Taliban peace talks to success.
Imran Khan wanted the prime minister to lead the talks in this regard. He was addressing a rally in Haripur city which is about 65 km distant from Islamabad.
Later, Khan told reporters that if he were the Pakistan prime minister he would be leading the peace talks. He has also pointed out that if he had been Nawaz Sharif, he would have taken the charge long ago.
The last day’s attack was occurred when the convoy was carrying soldiers from Bannu district to Miranshah area in the tribal region of North Waziristan.
Tehrik-e-Taliban of Pakistan (TTP) has claimed the responsibility of the bomb blast and revealed that they would continue such attacks on the security forces.
Imran Khan referred Tehrik-e-Taliban of Pakistan as an outcome of the American war and pointed out that their name was not heard until 2006.
