India establishes 'Visa on arrival' for touri


New Delhi: India government is planning to enhance tourism sector in India by establishing visa on arrival program. By this scheme the tourists from 180 countries are eligible to apply for the immediate visa. It is hoped that the visa on arrival will enable India to climb up in the field of global tourism. At first, the new scheme will be introduced at nine international airports in the country. In these airports there will be ETA felicities by which the tourists can apply online for this immediate visa. By this ETA system the applicants will receive an information from the concerned section within five days. Currently India has allowed such visa to tourists from 11 foreign countries. By diversifying these facility to 180 countries India can make a tremendous development in the tourism sector. The government is planning to implement the facility before October this year. Altogether twenty six airports in the country where international flights are being carried out will be considered for the new facility. However,  the countries such as Pakistan, Afghanistan Sudan, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Nigeria and Iran are exempted from availing the ‘Visa on arrival’ felicity.
