Washington: Senior Indian diplomat Devyani Khobragade was convicted by American court for presenting false information regarding the visa details of her servant-maid. So she was asked to leave the country immediately by the American authorities. The plea submitted by her to extend the court trial was rejected by the court recently.  There are also reports saying that Devayani has left America already.

According to US Attorney Preet Bharara the charges against the 39-year-old diplomat will remain since her plea for the extension of court trial was rejected. He also said that she will have to face court trial if she returns to the US without diplomatic immunity, But Devayani said that she would be pointing out matters regarding her diplomatic immunity in the court.
