India’s Deputy Consul General arrested in US

New York: India’s Deputy Consul General Devyani Khobragad was arrested in US yesterday for allegedly presenting fraud documents on account of a visa application of one Indian national employed by her.  Devyani Khobragad who has been working at the Indian Embassy in New York may get up-to 10 years of imprisonment for this fault. It is said that this arrest might be on the basis of a complaint filed by the servant maid Sangeetha Richard who was found missed from her house from June this year. India has expressed its concern regarding this arrest.
