Thiruvanandapuram: The Kerala State Legislative Committee meant for the upliftment of women and children is in a set-out to study and prepare reports on narcotics usage among children.

The legislative committee is planning to organize a news program in view to make the children and society aware about the adverse side effects of tobacco consumption.

The committee’s president Mons Joseph has said that the use of narcotics among children is a serious matter which creates great concern among parents and society.

Recently the member of parliament P T Thomas said in the Lok Sabha that it is high time to start an initiative to abolish the use of drugs among students. According to him, anti-drugs clubs are to be organized as an associate venture of students, parents and police at national level and the same should be functioned actively to solve the drug menace.
