One died during an ice cave collapse in US

Washington: One person is reported to have died and five others injured during an ice cave collapse that occurred in a national forest area situated in the northwest Washington state. There are four such ice caves in the forest. The collapse was assumed to have taken place at the Big Four Ice Caves located in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. This is a well known spot for hikers and attracts many people who are willing to get away from the prevailing severe heat condition. According to an official spokesperson, the hot atmospheric condition would have weakened the wall of the caves due to the melting of ice. The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office has identified that the died was a 34 year old woman. Her body was reported to have viewed at the back of the cave. According to authorities, a safe recovery of the same would be difficult, as the environmental conditions were very dangerous.
