Muscat: About one Lakh emigrants will lose their jobs in Oman on account of the nationalization process of the country. Currently, 39 % foreigners from different countries are working in various private sectors of Oman. To achieve the target of nationalization, the Oman authorities have now decided to bring down the strength of emigrants to 33%. So, the nation will have to expel one Lakh foreigners working in the private sectors of the country.
Currently, the Oman nationals working in various private sectors of the country are only 14.6%. But, 65% of the Omanis working in the private sectors are highly educated ones. According to Oman authorities, no time-frame has been put-forth for the nationalization process of the country. The intention of this step is to attract more Omanis to work in the the private sectors of the country.
