Dacca: Sri Lanka won the Twenty20 world Cup defeating India in the final encounter. In the beginning, Sri Lanka won the toss and sent India to bat. The decision taken by Mahlinga was justifiable. The bowlers of the Sri Lankan side bowled extremely well and managed to restrict India for 130 runs for four wickets
Chasing the 131 runs target, Sri Lanka achieved victory by loosing only four wickets, with 13 balls to spare.
Among the Indian side Virat Kohli scored a sparkling 77 out of 58 balls. But others did not rise up to the occasion and could not provide the required support to Kohli.
Among the Sri Lankan side Kumar Sangakara who was playing his last twenty20 International game scored an unbeaten 52 runs from 35 balls.
