New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party which started ruling Delhi recently has decided to give a New Year gift to Delhi residents by offering electricity for half price. About two days back, they had decided to distribute 670 liters of water free of cost on daily basis. Thus they have fulfilled two of the promises they had made during the election campaign. The new concession is available to consumers who generally use up-to 400 units of electricity. Thus, about 28 Lakh consumers in Delhi will be benefitted by the new offer.

In this regard, the government has decided to subject all electricity supplying firms for auditing The Controller and Audit General have been authorized to carry out this duty. The rest of the people in Delhi would be considered for the aforesaid concession only after getting reports from the auditing people.

The new Government has decided to convene the first legislative assembly meeting on the New Year day. The vote of confidence for the ruling government will be conducted on Thursday. On Friday the elections for Speaker and Deputy Speaker posts will be carried out. The Aam Aadmi party has decided Manindhar Singh Dheer as their speaker contestant.
