Cochin: As a New Year gift the price of cooking gas has been decided to increase by Rs. 230/- So, for a gas cylinder meant for household purposes, the consumer has to give altogether Rs. 1293.50/- At the same time the price of gas cylinder meant for commercial requirements is increased by Rs. 385/. The renewed rate of such a cylinder is Rs. 2185/-
During these circumstances, the last date for submitting Adhar numbers to avail subsidies to the consumers may be increased. The timeframe of the second phase to submit Adhar details in certain locations were over by Tuesday. In the third phase, the last date to submit these details is February 1st. So many states including Kerala had asked the central government that the Adhar details must not be considered as a compulsory factor for getting the subsidized gas cylinders . In the recently convened Congress Chief Ministers meeting, they were also put-forth the demand not to make Adhar compulsory for availing the subsidy on gas cylinders. The Congress Deputy Chairperson Rahul Gandhi has revealed to the ministers that he would be going through the matter with utmost significance.
