New Delhi: The much awaited anti-graft ordinances being pushed by Rahul Gandhi were put off by the Union Cabinet.
The Cabinet which held discussion for two hours decided to postpone the implementation of the ordinances for the time-being. amid assumptions that its A special meeting of the Cabinet may be held early next week for reconsidering the matter regarding ordinance.
Nothing is put-forth by the government officially regarding this.
As soon as the Cabinet had taken up the agenda for the day, Cabinet secretary Ajit Seth announced that the items relating to the ordinances are postponed.
The ordinances supposed to pass in the cabinet meeting were Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Bill and Right of Citizens for Time-Bound Delivery of Goods and Services and Redressal of their Grievances Bill. These proposed legislation were not able to passe during the extended Winter Session of Parliament due to disturbances.
