Beijing: China has discarded US government’s appointment of a special coordinator for Tibetan issues and referred it as interference in China’s internal affairs.
Chinese government has firmly criticized the proposal put forth by the US government and said that any intervention by any foreign country under the shade of so called Tibetan issue would not be tolerated.
Chinese foreign ministry source said that they have not recognized the so-called special coordinator for Tibetan issues and would not follow the same even in future.
US Secretary of State John Kerry has named Sarah Sewall, the Undersecretary of State for Civilian Security, Democracy and Human Rights, to serve as special coordinator for Tibetan issues.
Her appointment was announced after a meeting between US President Barack Obama and Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama at the White House on February 22. China had pointed out the meeting as gross interference in its internal affairs.
