Durban: Jacques Kallis, who announced his retirement from Test cricket recently, is not chosen for the Twenty-20 World Cup squad of South Africa. The Twenty-20 World Cup will be playing during March-April next year in Bangladesh. While announcing his retirement from Test cricket, he was also mentioned about his availability to play for the limited over cricket matches. He had also expressed his ambition to play for his nation in the one day world cup ties to be played in Australia and New Zealand in the year 2015.

Kallis has been irregular in participating South Africa’s domestic cricket matches in recent years. But it is expected that most of the national players would play in the domestic Twenty20 which starts on January 5th in the coming year. As per reports, the chosen preliminary squad is meant only for administrative purposes and so, the chances for selecting  other players for the final squad cannot be ruled out.
