Leonardo DiCaprio wins Golden Globe Best Actor award

The trophy for the best actor in a comedy or musical scene went to Leonardo DiCaprio. The 39 year old actor got this award for his role as a hedonistic broker in ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ directed by Martin Scorsese

The actor was very much pleased to see his career’s second Globe award in the comedy category. DiCaprio praised Scorsese and thanked him for enabling him to secure the award.

In the contest, DiCaprio beat fellow nominees Christian Bale (American Hustle), Bruce Dern (Nebraska), Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis) and Joaquin Phoenix (Her).

He had won a Golden Globe award in the year 2005 for the movie ‘The Aviator’. DiCaprio had nominated for the contest more than eight times
