Melbourne: China’s Li Na overcame Dominika Cibulkova in scores 7-6 (7-3) 6-0 to grab her first Australian Open title. Thus this years Australian open women’s singles trophy will be going to Asia.
Li Na was the runner-up both in 2013 and 2011. The 31-year old Chinese player became the most aged winner of the women’s title. Earlier Margaret Court had won the championship in 1973 while she was 30.
In the final she was in a devastating style and enabled the viewers to have a spectacular encounter. When she won the title she raised her arms to indicate her triumph and then shook hands with her opponent,
