Kozhikode: Popular Malayalam actor and producer Augustine (52) passed away due to liver-related illness at a private hospital here on Thursday morning. He was under going treatment in hospital. Augustine has acted in more than 100 films mainly in comedy roles. He was born in Kozhikode.His wife is Hansiamma and has two daughters, actress Ann Augustine and Jeethu. He had suffered a stroke in 2010 but still he continued to act in movies even after that. Some of Augustine’s famous films were Devasuram, Sadayam, Chandralekha, Aaraam Thampuran, and Indian Rupee. His last film was director Joy Mathew’s Shutter.
