The Aam Admi Party on Tuesday maintained that it would neither take nor extend support to either the BJP or the Congress as the new party was formed as an alternative to them.
Delhi seems to be clearly heading towards president’s rule as neither the single largest party, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), nor the stellar debutante, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), is ready to form the government. Instead, both are “happy” to sit in the opposition.
“We cannot support BJP or Congress as AAP was formed as an alternative to them. People had supported us so that we can establish an alternative politics in the country,” AAP leader Prashant Bhushan said.
AAP, on the other hand, won 28 seats followed by Congress with eight. JD-U has got one seat while the Mundka seat was won by an Independent.
Prashant Bhushan on Monday suggested that BJP and AAP could join hands to which Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday responded with a tweet.
