New Delhi: The Supreme Court categorically stated that the travel allowances which has been giving to the blind and physically handicapped should be given to those who cannot hear and talk. They have asked the central government to do the needful regarding this. As per the Supreme Court sources, it is the responsibility of the ruling government to keep-up the dignity of the deaf and dumb.
Earlier, the finance ministry had said that the difficulties being suffered by the deaf and dumb are less when compared to the sufferings of blind and physically handicapped. But the Supreme Court today said that this decision is absolutely baseless and unconstitutional. Thus, they agreed with the suggestion of the ministry of health to give travel allowances to the deaf and dumb also.
