Cape Town: The biggest street carnival in Cape Town will be commencing on March 14th .
The spectacular 5th annual celebration of the cultural celebrations will light up at the Green Point Fan Walk on Saturday, 14 March 2015.
The Cape Town Carnival is an exciting traditional celebration of African identity.
The festival showcases the coexistence of diverse communities and cultures in the country.
The theme for Cape Town Carnival 2015 is elemental.
So the celebrations are related to Fire, Water, Air and Earth which are the unstoppable forces that shape the environment.
In the gorgeous parade there will be incredible giant floats, wacky puppets and amazing specialty acts, each carefully built, decorated and choreographed to represent the incarnation of the theme based on elements.
Organizers are encouraging Carnival-goers to shine brightly, dive spectacularly into the sea, take to the zenith of skies and come back to earth for celebrating the elemental theme.
Visitors will have the total freedom to move through the city streets with their family and friends.
They can enjoy the festival by tasting variety of food, viewing arts and crafts as well as kids’ activities.
The streets will be closed for final preparations by providing Carnival-goers enough time to find the perfect viewing spot or to enable them to find a seat in any one of the restaurants along the Fan Walk before the mesmerizing Carnival begins.
An explosion of fireworks marks the start of the electrifying parade.
More than 2000 impressive costumed performers and musicians will take to Cape Town’s Fan Walk, to entertain viewers with magical floats and vibrant dance routines.
The parade will be followed by some of the hottest musical talent.
In one way or other the Cape Town Carnival will be a memorable occasion to overseas viewers.
