Dorset: Robert “Bobby” Tufts is said to have lost his effort for a third consecutive term as mayor of his tiny northern Minnesota tourist town.
But,the 5-year-old isn’t taking this drawback as a serious one.
During his tenure he has helped to raise money for local charities and declared ice cream as on the top of the food pyramid.
According to him it was funny and it is time to pass on to the vote. Bobby was speaking to the Associated Press, a day after he lost the annual election in Dorset. He said that he was proud of his efforts during his rein in Dorset.
Bobby’s rule over the tiny town was absolutely a ceremonial one, being that Dorset has no formal city government. The population in the city is ranging from nine to 28 people only. People residing there can vote as many times as they like by paying $1 for a vote at ballot boxes around the town. The winner is drawn at random during the annual Taste of Dorset festival.
The 16 year old new mayor, Eric Mueller, is bringing in more experience.
He has helped to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House of Charities for the Red River Valley in Fargo, North Dakota. One of his other major acts was declaring ice cream as a necessary food.
