First cricket test ended in an exciting draw

Johannesburg: The first cricket test between India and South Africa ended in an exciting draw. At that juncture the host were eight runs short for a sensational victory. Earlier, India had set a victory target of 458 run for South Africa and they took the challenge so seriously.  They reached very near to the target with the support of centuries from Faf du Plessis (134) and AB de Villiers (103). They played as if they are not ready to surrender till the last ball. This made the spectators to have a very nice cricket that can be remembered for a long time. If the South Africans had not taken this challenge with total sportsman spirit, the test would have been a dull draw.

If they had won this test match, it would have been the biggest ever victorious run chase in the history of test cricket. In test cricket, the highest victory by run chase is in the name of West Indies who scored 418 runs for seven wickets to beat Australia at St. Jones in 2003.
