Athens: Police in Georgia said that they have used a GPS device by hiding it inside a Teddy bear toy for apprehending a suspected thief.
Athens-Clarke County police said that the Mid-Atlantic Clothing Recycling had recently been experiencing thefts of clothing from its collection bin at Georgia Square Mall.
According to Athens Banner-Herald, the company manager concealed the GPS device inside a toy bear and placed it in a bag of clothing which later tossed it into the collection bin.
Then the manager called police to report that the teddy bear was on the move.
Police said that the manager worked with the officer to update the stuffed animal’s location.
A 55-year-old man was stopped and charged with theft in connection with this incident.
