United States: A Romanian princess is said to have accused for conducting illegal cockfights and gambling in a distant part of the US.
Irana Walker, 61, and her husband John, 68, were arranging these cruel contests on their farm by pocketing £12 as entrance fee.
At the location it is said that they had arranged portable toilets, hired a Mexican chef to provide catering requirements and even sold booze.
Irana, daughter of exiled former King Michael of Romania was conducting the cockfighting at her farm building in Irrigon, Oregon.
She and her husband were initially denied holding the fights, which are illegal in every American state which may be charged a jail sentence of up to five years.
Later, the couple agreed to change their stand and decided to pay £117,000 to avoid from being locked up.
They had to sell their farm area to meet the aforesaid cash.
Both of them were asked to appear in a Portland court to face charges such as illegal gaming, conspiracy, violation of animal welfare etc.
Irana’s father had to flee from Romania in 1947 after being forced to abdicate by the communist regime.
