Los Angeles: HONK! Fest West is a festival of community street bands from across North America. This year the auspicious occasion is celebrated from June 18 to 21. In this year’s festival a band
team from Australia has been arrived to participate. This is a great festival to bring like minded musicians together from around the country and Canada for exchanging music, styles, and other best parts of it. This is the eighth consecutive year that the festival has been commemorating in America. The specialty of this years festival is said to be community-powered, volunteer-run and a family-friendly event. The festival has high capability to turn spectators into musicians and dancers while dancers into circus freaks and jugglers. It can even turn grant reviewers into total party admirers. There will be 32 bands from all over North America and beyond to fill Seattle’s streets and parks with mesmerizing music. The main intention the festival is to help cover some of the costs involved in moving large bands and equipment all over the country and to help house and feed the visiting musicians while they are here. A great festival to bring city natives out of their houses, out of the bar, out with their families for dancing in the streets and parks located in their neighborhood. This builds up unity among communities as well as neighbors, facilitating positive interaction among people. HONK! Fest West is a three day mobile music festival celebrations with musicians and dancers roaming around the City. This is a family friendly event and always free to the public. Festivals like this require lots of volunteers, performers who like to play for the fun. Special events in this year’s celebrations include Bloco Pacifico, a Samba drum and dance ensemble made up of members of many local, regional, and West Coast samba players. The annual night drum battle has tripled in size with Garfield, Roosevelt, Emerald City BOOM Drumline, Blue Thunder, and Last Regiment of Syncopated Drummers. Video on the Hong Fest West 2015
