Clowns are banned in certain French towns


Paris: A town in southern France is being banned people from dressing up as clowns.
This decision is on the basis of the heap of attacks in several parts of the country.
There had been a number of attacks by people disguised as bogus or evil clowns.
Some of those creating disturbances on streets were seen armed with pistols, knives, baseball bats etc.
Days before a youngster had hit a passer-by 30 times with an iron bar in Montpelier.
He was jailed for four months.
Vendargues, which has a population of about 6,000 is believed to be the first town to impose such a ban on clowns.The decision was made by the mayor.
Official Bruno Giraudo said that France has been making arrangements to avoid any disruption by evil clowns.
According to him the intention is to protect children by preventing bogus clowns from mixing up with residents.
Officers have already arrested more than a dozen teenagers following the aforesaid type attacks.
