Tokyo: It is said that there are possibilities to meet leaders of Japan and China for the first time.
This will be on next month during the APEC summit in Beijing.
Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) is a summit of regional leaders which is to be hosted by the Chinese President Xi Jinping.
According to Japanese officials the meeting will help to lower tensions between the two Asian powers of the region.
The attention grabbing meeting between Japan’s prime minister, Shinzo Abe, and his Chinese counterpart, President Xi Jinping, had been under topmost diplomatic efforts by both nations.
But the officials Japan have not received any positive word from the Chinese side.
According to them, the two leaders would meet briefly perhaps for about 15 minutes during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting.
Meanwhile, Japan’s Kyodo News agency has reported that Abe had shaken hands with China’s Prime Minister, Li Keqiang, at a dinner for Asian and European leaders in Milan.
